1953> In response to a shortage of elementary teachers in Maryland schools, the College establishes an Elementary Education curriculum. Courses are offered in September. > The Institute for Child Study holds Parent Child Study groups in Maryland public schools to help educate parents about child development. > The Department of Industrial Education moves from Shriver Laboratory and the former engineering building, H.J. Patterson Hall, to a new building, J.M. Patterson , located on the southeast side of campus. |
