1934> Edna McNaughton becomes Head of the Nursery School. > The University of Maryland Board approves a request from the Dean of the College of Education to establish a Nursery School on the College Park campus to be supported mainly by the Federal Emergency Relief Administration. The Nursery School is first housed in the Home Economics Practice House [it later moves to the ground floor of the Home Economics Building, (McDonnell Hall )]. > Number of "departments" (subject areas) increases to eight. Commercial Education becomes a department. The course Methods in Academic and Scientific Subjects becomes Methods in High School Subjects. > Music Education courses are offered for the first time. |
